Herron Island Cookbook Committee Minutes for November 6th, 2010

Welcome aboard, Susan-and your very talented daughter!

Present at meeting were Tootsie, Linda and Jean at Jean's house.
Discussed major actions achieved so far.
Reviewed access points for recipe submission (email-cookbook@discoverherronisland.com) (website-herrongamers.com/cookbook) Reviewed assignments of recipe topics and expansion of committee- Linda agreed to ask Susan Hauth. Status of Karin Wagner changed to Consultant (very busy right now and already working w Karl on aspects of the Cookbook)

Linda and Susan will choose recipe topics to read, correct w authors and submit to Karl for changes. Jean will get back to them w our process, topics and Table of contents via email.

Each person will count the recipes already submitted on their topics to help decide if we have enough to go forward w printing. Tentative hrdcover recipe cut-off date will be 12/30--we tht 11/30 but the Beachcomber won't be sent out til 11/30!!

Linda, Tootsie, Susan(?) and Jean will work on wording of Foreword and "What is Herron Island". Susan sent in a cute contribution from her Claire for the latter. Also, there is a good description on the 3rd page of the last Booster's phone directory-the one w the red cover--not sure if we could use it.

We need to know from Karl:

  1. which recipes of his Mom's does he want included in this cookbook?
  2. OK w him re 12/30 deadline date for the hardcopy?
  3. does he have a copy of the new Table of Contents?
  4. what research has he done on printing costs, etc.
We need to put together a more informative announcement for the Oct.-Nov. Beachcomber. This is a priority, as no Beachcomber til late Jan.

If we can, we could also put same on the Herronisland.org website. A few mo. ago we were asked not to use the website for making the cook book since it wasn't an official island project, but maybe we can put a notice in the 'classified' Hope this is all correct and complete--if not or any questions, call or email me.
