9" 2 crust pie shell
4 cup sliced apples
(red & green apples)
2 tsp lemon juice
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 to 3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup flour
Roll Bottom pie crust.
Sprinkle apples with lemon juice.
Stir together dry ingredients.
Mix apples in and pour into pie shell.
Dot the pie with butter.
Roll out top crust, cover apples & crimp edges.
Poke holes in top crust to vent.
Brush top crust with milk & sprinkle sugar over.
Bake in 375 oven about 45 min. or till browned & juices are bubbling.
Apples should be tender.
A mixture of granny smith & golden delicious would be good.
Bake on a cookie sheet would help keep oven clean.
