Apple Strudel

Oven 400 degrees      35 to 40 minutes

Mix:   2 cups flour and 1 cup butter
Add:1/2 cup milk
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 tsp salt
Divide into 2 balls. Place one on greased cookie sheet.
Mix:4 cups apples, sliced
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup sugar
3 heaping tbsp flour

Pour into crust. Roll 2nd ball of crust and cover apples. Beat egg white with fork and dab onto top crust. While strudel is still warm, spread with mixture off: powdered sugar, water, lemon juice and slivered almonds, if desired.
