1 and 1/3 Cup Butter, softened
6 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt, if desired
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 and 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup chopped dates
Blend 1 cup butter with cream cheese. Gradually add flour and salt until well blended. Press pastry along bottom and halfway up sides of 10-inch by 15-inch by 1-inch baking pan. Set aside. Cream remaining butter with brown sugar and white sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Blend in pecans and dates. Turn filling into pastry. Spread evenly. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Dust with powdered suger before serving.
