Caramel Sauce

1/2 cup brown suger
1/2 cup karo syrup
1/8 tsp soda
6 tbsp water
dash of salt
1 tbsp butter
1/3 cup evaporated milk
13 cup toasted almonds

Cook sugar, karo syrup, soda, water, salt and butter over medium heat until a small amount dropped in a little cold water will make a soft ball for 232 degrees F on a thermometer. Cool to lukewarm. Beat in milk gradually and blend 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in nuts. Makes 1 and 1/3 cups. Will keep several weeks in fridge or may be put in small jars and sealed.
