1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/4 sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the oil and the egg to the milk in a measuring cup. Add milk mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir just until blended, very important not to over mix. Pour into greased 8 inch baking pan. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes or until browned. Best enjoyed with Karin Wagner's Chili.
