Dill Pickles

3 cups water
1 cup vinegar
1/4 cup salt

Bring to a boil.
Fill jars with small pickles (cukes)..add 1/2 tsp alum to each jar. Add one clove garlic to each jar. Add green dill to each jar. Pour hot brine over contents of jar and seal with hot lids. If you like them spicy, add a part of dried red pepper to each jar. Let cure for a couple of months.
