Fresh Apple Cake

2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 and 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Clove
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
3 eggs
1 and 1/2 tsp Vanilla
4 cups chopped apples (granny smith or golden delicious)
2 cups chopped nuts

Cream together eggs, sugar, oil, & vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to cream mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 min. or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Grease and flour pan before baking.

Bake in 9 by 12 baking dish or 2x8" round pans.

Frosting:

18 ounces Cream Cheese
1 cube butter
1 box powdered sugar
2 teaspoon Vanilla & Milk as needed

This recipe was handed down from my grand mother (Blue ribbon winner at 3 county fairs)

It's the best apple cake I've ever tasted, and many others have agreed. I hope you do too.
