Sift, measure 1 cup flour; add 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 stick of margarine, 2 tablespoons cold water. Mix as pie crust. Divide into two parts. Roll into strips 3 inchs by 13 inchs or to fit cookie sheet.

One cup hot water, 1 stick butter or margarine, 1/4 teaspoon salt. Put on heat, bring to boil. Sift, measure, 1 cup flour. Take mixture from heat and stir flour slowly into it. Makes a very stiff dough. Add, one at a time, 3 eggs. Stir very smooth after each addition. Spread over strips evenly. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Watch closely as you do not want the kringler to brown too much. Frost with about 1/2 package powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, 2 tablespoons hot milk and 1/4 teapsoon almond extract. Sprinkle with finely chopped nuts, if you wish.
