Mix all ingredients just before serving. Toss with dressing. Sprinkle on carmelized almonds.
Dressing: Mix and refrigerate. Shake well......keeps several days
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp vinegar
1/4 cup salad oil
dash of Tabasco
Almonds:
1/4 cup slivered almonds
2 tbsp sugar
Stir almonds and sugar over medium heat until sugar melts and coats almonds. Almonds will be light brown.
Remove pan from heat and keep stirring till almonds turn "chalky" and do not stick together.
Spread on waxed paper to dry and cool.
