1 pound ground hamburger
1 package italian sausages (I [Sandra] use[s] Fletcher's or Iserino's)
1 package commercial (dry) chili seasoning, any brand
1 chopped onion
2 (15 oz. each) cans S & W "Red Beans, Louisiani Style"
2 (15.5 oz each) cans S & W "San Antonio Beans"
2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp crushed red peppers flakes
1 tsp cumin
1 (11.5 oz.) can V-8 tomato juice
1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can crushed or diced peeled tomatoes
Brown hamburger, onions and sausage.
Add the remaining ingredients.
Cover & simmer all day. After this has simmered for abour 3 to 4 hours, take out sausages and 'smash', return to the chili pot.
