Steamed Oysters
Things You'll Need:
Covered Steamer
Oysters (roughly 12 per person)
2 cups water or beer
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 cup of brown vinegar
Add about 2 cups of water or beer, or enough to be 3/4 inch deep in the steamer.
Boil on high heat for about 5 minutes or until the steam rolls out when the lid is opened slightly.
Add oysters and an additional cup of water and cover on medium heat.
Steam oysters about 5 to 10 minutes, or until the majority of the oysters have opened. Do not overcook.
Serve hot, with melted butter and vinegar.
