Rice Surprise

Melt 1 tbsp butter or margarine in pan. Saute 1 small or 1/2 medium onion. Add 1 cup brown rice and saute until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Put rise and onion mixture into rice cooker with 3 cups water and cook; or add 3 cups waer in a sauce pan and cook about 40 minutes or until done.

To add more flavor, add spices of your choice -- allspice, dillweed, curry powder, Italian seasonings, whatever your palate desires.
