iOS: Threes

iOS: Threes

Gamergirl Jaci here, recently I have stumbled across a new app that has quickly become an addiction. An addiction I simply can not put down. This tiny little game is both pleasant on the eyes, charming to the ears, and challenging to the mind. It is called Threes created by Sirvo LLC.

Threes is a fun and amazingly simple app that you will become hopelessly addicted to, its like digital crack. If you like games that make you think and challenge your brain, then Threes is the game for you. It’s very simple. Threes is played on a four by four board, where you slide the tiles from left to right or up and down. You start off with 5 or 6 cards or tiles, which are 1s, 2s, or 3s. Simply combine the 1s and 2s to make 3s, then combine the 3s to make 6s and so forth.

Your goal is to combine cards or tiles to make higher numbers. The higher numbers that you have the more points you will score in the end. Make sure you pay attention to what the next card or tile will be, this will help you greatly. It takes roughly ten minutes or more to complete a game. The longer you think your moves through the better you will do. This game really likes to make you think and plan your moves.

I don’t quite understand how the scoring works. At the end of the game the value of your cards are combined for your score. The higher number cards that you have, the more points you score. For example, a 96 card is worth 729 points while a 384 card is worth a whopping 6,561 points. By combining higher number cards together the more points you will rack up.

I did not think that I would become so addicted to a game like this. I have thrown down challenges with a few people to see who could get the highest score. I tend to find myself up until 6 in the morning trying to beat their scores, damn you Jamie! Threes is that addictive.

Threes incorporates Game Center so you can challenge your friends. You can also browse through your friends’ and foes’ high scores. It works well on both the iPad and the iPhone. Whether you are at home or work you can always be a slave to this digital addiction. You can find Threes in the iTunes App Store for a little over a buck. Be careful, this game will suck you in and before you know it, you will be up all night trying to beat some co-worker’s high score. Forget about Candy Crush, play Threes instead!

The Herron Gamers are going to have a couple of friendly Threes competitions. If anyone is interested in joining us, leave a comment.
